Utility Assistance Programs
The Office of Social Services administers several utility assistance programs for citizens residing in East Baton Rouge parish.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides utility payments to energy vendors on behalf of eligible citizens. Utility payments are made once in a twelve month period on a non-emergency basis, contingent upon availability of funds. Eligible individuals must meet income guidelines and reside in East Baton Rouge Parish.

For additional information about the programs, eligilbility requirements or to speak with a Family Service Worker about applying for assistance, contact the Office of Social Services at 358-4561, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m Monday through Friday.
