Mission
The Inventory Section of the Purchasing
Division maintains the City Parish fixed and movable assets inventory control,
and handles public auctions for surplus City-Parish material, vehicles and
equipment.
Performance Measures
Inventory value at year
end 2007 was $139.8 million, compared with $128 million for 2006. The 2007 auctions generated approximately $1.6 million vs. approximately $694,000 in 2006 in sales. A portion of the proceeds from the auctions is retained to
operate and maintain auction facilities at the East Lot.

To improve customer satisfaction during auctions, To continue improving the surplus storage facility,
To continue training of employees to ensure efficient operation, To work towards improving roadway and parking at auction facility, To continue maximizing City Parish returns on surplus-property auctions,
To improve upon present property tagging procedures by gathering information necessary to implement Bar Coding procedures and, To improve on communications between departments/agencies and our Invertory Staff to permit viewing of surplus property. |
