SOLID WASTE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
For East Baton Rouge Parish Residents
(excluding residents in the Cities of Baker & Zachary)
The monthly residential Solid Waste User Fee is scheduled to increase from
$15.50 to $19.00, effective January 1, 2008. The City-Parish plans to implement a Solid Waste Assistance Program for low-income residents. This program will allow the fee increase to be waived for eligible residents. Eligibility will be determined based on federal income guidelines used for LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program). Applications will be taken at the East Baton Rouge Parish-Office of Social Services and all Community Centers on Monday thru Wednesday, during the hours of
8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Thursday 8:00 a.m. –12:00 noon. Please call the Service Fee Business Office at 389-5378 for information.
