O'Brien House

 

O'Brien House is a halfway house for homeless male and female adults 18 years and older, which are recovering from alcohol and/or drug addiction. Established in 1971, it is dedicated to help individuals transform their lives into becoming a healthy, contributing member of the community. This shelter provides room and board for a period of up to six months thru funding from the Emergency Shelter Grants Program, as well as other services such as individual counseling, group counseling, AA meetings, twelve-step meetings and programs, job preparation, eye glasses, transportation to and from medical treatments, outside counseling, individual tutoring, and an on-hold facility while clients wait for treatment center openings. 2003 ESGP funds are assists with the current operation of this project facility.
