WORLD AIDS DAY in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE WORLD AIDS DAY ACTIVITIES
Monday, December 1st

Metro Health is observing World AIDS Day with its annual awareness campaign, "Compassion Arrest" and fund raiser. The activities will take place at the Dr. Leo S. Butler Center located at 950 East Washington Street. Metro Health has scheduled the following activities:

"COMPASSION ARREST"
9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

"FREE GUMBO LUNCH"
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

"AIDS VIDEO / PICTURES"
1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
A video and/or pictures on AIDS in Africa will be available for viewing. The pictures and/or video will be provided by Oasis Christian Church, which is a part of their AIDS in Africa ministry.

"POETRY CONTEST"
3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Along with Gilead Science, HIV AIDS Alliance Region Two (HAART) will host a community town hall meeting at the Louisiana Prevention and Training Center located at 4560 North Boulevard, Suite 100. This will be a panel discussion with an open forum for discussion. Dinner will be served and Transportation is available.
