|Performs responsible administrative and supervisory work in the area of coordination of the 95+ node Personal Computer Local Area Network (PC LAN) computer system and other airport related systems. These duties include but are not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing the Access Control Security System, the Phone System infrastructure and electronics, the Terminal Lighting Control System network, the Audio/Video system throughout the airport as well as the Airport's LAN/MAN/WAN, Finger Print System, Flight Information System network and other related system networks. Work involves the initial selection and updating of hardware; selection of compatible, interfacing software; coordination of services; and the supervision of users for a large department. Work also involves the use of independent judgment and is reviewed through personal conferences and for results obtained. Performs other work as requested. |
|ESSENTIAL WORK TASKS|
|Performs complex duties to various airport related networks.
Plans, directs, trains, and evaluates technical support staff.
Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing system problems; evaluates workload and capacity of computer systems to determine feasibility of expanding or enhancing the LAN; provides training for user department personnel in the utilization of the PC LAN system.
Responsible for coordinating the use of the PC LAN hardware and interfacing software; selects equipment and appropriate programs; reviews and presents LAN system policies for approval; prepares and submits divisional budget; makes purchase recommendations; collaborates with other managers to determine departmental needs.
Performs total system backups on a daily basis; runs and monitors anti-virus software; performs mock restores of data; evaluates new software and hardware; may repair personal computers and other network hardware.
Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing the Access Control Security System.
Maintains the acquisition and maintenance of all communication equipment i.e., telephones, cellular phones, fax machines, etc.
Performs duties on the audio/video system.
Teaches computer literacy class and specialized classes, designs teaching aids for classes.
Performs modifications to the phone system's infrastructure.
Runs and traces cable.
Prepares written instructions for running program design or running reports.|
|KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES|

|EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE|
|Bachelor's degree in computer science and two years electronics/computer electronics experience.|
|Any equivalent combination of education and experience.|
