The Accounting Division performs all the activities normally associated with a governmental accounting unit. These activities are interrelated and include preparing, analyzing, recording, summarizing, reporting, and interpreting financial transactions of the city, parish, and special districts.  The Accounting Division maintains accounting systems in accordance with the best-recognized practices in governmental accounting.
