Rolling Vendors

Ordinance No. 11561- Adopted September 22, 1999

Requirements

  • Person or persons not having a fixed place of business within a physical structure.

  • License Fee - $250 (cash or money order).

  • Must possess a policy of liability insurance before business can be registered ($250,000 per incident), which covers the property on which he/she proposes to sell merchandise.  The policy must include a provision that the City-Parish will be notified 30 days prior to cancellation of this policy.

  • Must possess a signed lease agreement between the vendor and the property owner.  The lease must indicate who is responsible for liability claims on the property.

  • A minimum security deposit of $50 (cash or money order) is required if you are a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish.  If you are not a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish, a $100 minimum security deposit (cash or money order) will be required.

  • Food vendors, firewood sales, if sold by the owner of the land where the trees are cut, events sponsored by non-profit organizations, disabled persons, fairs, or artists and craftsmen who display their own original art and handicrafts are exempt from the Rolling Vendor's license.
