Orion's 2008 Parade Route | Orion's 2008 Parade Route

On Saturday, January 26th at 6:30 p.m., the Krewe of Orion’s 9th Annual carnival parade rolls from the corners of Government and St. Philip Streets through the streets of downtown Baton Rouge. With a parade theme of “A
Date With The Stars”, this traditional New Orleans style parade will include 18-20 colorful, lighted floats. Loaded with beautifully costumed and masked riders, the krewe will be throwing an abundance of beads, plush
animals, collectable float medallions and doubloons with marching bands, marching groups, and much more! This parade guarantees fun and excitement for the entire family!
During and after the parade, Orion hosts its signature evening event, Masquerade, Baton Rouge’s only indoor, traditional style Mardi Gras parade and extravaganza. For 2008, the evening begins with the music and
entertainment of Vince Vance and the Valiants. This high-energy musical revue has thrilled audiences of all ages from coast-to-coast with their unforgettable brand of music. And don’t forget those vivacious, voluptuous
vixens of rock n’ roll...the valuable, yet vulnerable, Valiantettes - Vixie, Violet and Velicity!
Punctuating an interlude in Masquerade’s musical celebration, the Krewe of Orion parade will roll indoors, right through the middle of the enthusiastic revelers with the krewe throwing both traditional and collectable
throws. Guests will enjoy the parade of colorful floats and marching bands from inside, in the comfort of the River Center Exhibition Hall. After the beads are gathered and the riders have joined the merriment, VINCE
VANCE AND THE VALIANTS return to the stage along with those vivacious Valiantettes to continue the musical journey from the fabulous 50's to the techno-pop 90's and beyond.
For 2008, Masquerade will again be the hot place to be. So get ready to dance the night away or just enjoy the entertainment. Come to the Masquerade and take a journey through rock n' roll history with the unparalleled
Vince Vance, as your guide.
The Masquerade for 2008 will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 7 p.m. at the Baton Rouge River Center. Masquerade is a formal event (obligatory tux, floor length evening gown), with all reserved table seating. For
