The Animal Control & Rescue Center (ACRC) investigates, enforces and resolves citizen complaints about animal related complaints and
situations parish wide. Rescued, seized or impounded animals are transported to the animal shelter.
The Companion Animal Alliance performs all animal sheltering, adoptions, rescue, fostering & euthanasia services. Animals are received from citizens and ACRC Officers.
The shelter building and facilities are shared with the ACRC. |

East Baton Rouge Parish Code of Ordinances
An amendment to the Animal Control Ordinance, becomes effective January 25, 2012 changes the holding period for dogs and cats to three days for an
unidentified animal and five days for an animal wearing or having any form of identification. |
