Mayor-President Melvin L. “Kip” Holden and his wife Lois will lead the annual Mayor’s Family Bike Ride on Sunday, April 27th starting on Fourth Street between North Boulevard and Convention Street from 12 noon 'til 1 p.m. The ride is held each year, as part of the Mayor’s Healthy City Initiative. This year’s ride will connect the Bike Day festivities, Sunday in the Park and 2014 Louisiana Earth Day, which will be held along North Boulevard this Sunday.

The route begins on Fourth Street and Convention Street down to the State Capitol and back to the enjoy the Earth Day festivities along North Boulevard, Town Square and Galvez Plaza.


Bike Day is FREE and we encourage everyone to attend and enjoy this heart-healthy event.


The Mayor’s Healthy City Initiative identifies and coordinates efforts aimed at healthy eating and an active lifestyle into a unifying community commitment to better health.
