Court Services Coordinator

City Court
Under the direction of the Clerk of City Court/Judicial Administrator, plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the school assignments, activities and responsibilities of the Court Services Division. Work is performed with use of independent judgment within established guidelines and is reviewed through observations of work, periodic staff conferences, review of reports and records, overall effectiveness of all education programs, Volunteers in the Court, Community Relations and the completion of courthouse maintenance requests. Performs special projects and other work as assigned or requested by administration. Performs other work as requested.
Participates in the formulation of policies affecting the overall operation of the Court Services Division; executes and enforces policies and procedures. Develops, revises, approves and maintains division forms, routines and schedules. Provides supervision and guidance to subordinate supervisors; conducts conference with such personnel periodically, conducts informational sessions or programs as needed. Reviews staff assignments and effectiveness of overall program to assess utility of procedures and methods; implements modifications when necessary. Prepares and distributes division statistical reports and records. Coordinates and implements overall work program for the Court Services Division; initiates work routines, procedures and methods for efficient department operation. Attends division head staff meetings and meetings with the Clerk of City Court/Judicial Administrator and judges. Explores the community for resources available for treatment, rehabilitative services and educational programs. Researches and develops new programs and their curricula, including videos and supplemental material. Makes recommendations to the Clerk of City Court/Judicial Administrator and judges. Recruits instructors for schools such as DWI, SCOPE, PAM, DOP, CEDMS and SASAP; coordinates and supervises schools, instructors and public service groups. Coordinates public relations and special events and activities held at the city courthouse or sponsored by City Court. Represents the City Court Judges and Clerk of City Court/Judicial Administrator at various functions; serves as liaison with public agencies, the department and the general public. Supervises assignments made to the Court Runners, including their use and maintenance of the City Court vehicle. Makes presentations to schools and outside groups relative to City Court programs.
Knowledge of modern principles, practices and techniques of social rehabilitation activities and professional criminal justice treatment modalities. Knowledge of community resources and referral agencies. Knowledge of the Court System laws, rules and regulations affecting operations of the Court Service Division. Knowledge and skill in the use of computer applications and software. Knowledge of the dynamics of group behavior and therapy techniques. Ability to evaluate community resources and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to direct and supervise the work of office staff. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, to both groups and to individuals. Ability to make decisions and respond to problems in accordance with established Court polices and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with subordinates employees, members of other departments, various agencies and the public. Ability to apply good work habits such as punctuality, reliability, preciseness, and dependability in order to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the department and division.
Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field, and four years of experience in professional level probation or criminal justice work, including three years of supervisory experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
