|LOCATION OF WORK|
|Under the direction of the Risk and Claims Manager, performs highly responsible professional and supervisory work coordinating all special projects related to the City-Parish's Risk Management program. Work involves responsibility for analyzing complex risk related issues and includes all projects related to workers' compensation, safety, general liability and property and casualty insurance claims liability. Incumbent provides analytical skills to support practical business solutions on projects related to risk management initiatives. Supervises subordinate staff of clerical, technical and professional employees. Work is performed within the scope of established policies, rules and regulations. Performs other work as requested.|
|ESSENTIAL WORK TASKS|
|Performs complex projects related to risk management and workers' compensation statistical data analysis; assists director and manager with all risk related special projects and policies; supplies supportive documentation, analytical skills and statistical data to ensure satisfactory results.
Makes recommendations on fee scheduling services and provider network reimbursement schedules; negotiates with physicians, hospitals, physical therapists and pharmacies for inclusion.
Approves certificates of insurance coverage; approve payments of invoices for bonds, policy renewals and claims payments.
Collects and analyzes data relating to loss experience and employee risk exposures; compiles and tracks workers compensation statistics including total recordable cases, loss of work totals, job restriction totals, incidence rate totals for employee workforce and demographics.
Identify and tract incidence rates and numbers by occupational illness/injury; identify trends and recurring risk exposure; identify duplicate user activity claims; track injury cases for possible fraud.
Designs and creates all risk related documents and reports including periodical employee publications, reports, procedures and manuals.
Consults with attorneys, consultants and physicians on risk related issues.

|Knowledge of mathematics and statistics used to make complex computations.
Knowledge of English used to prepare narrative reports and to communicate effectively with others.
Knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to risk management and the adjusting and settlement of workers compensation claims.
Knowledge of investigative procedures and methods.
Skill in the operation of modern office equipment and in the use of complex computer applications.
Ability to evaluate difficult and unusual insurance data and make sound decisions.
Ability to prepare and analyze financial and statistical statements and reports.

|EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE|
|Bachelor's degree and four years professional level experience in positions involving projects, statistical, and data analysis. |
