The BRFD Rescue Division responds to all motor vehicle accidents in the city where there is a possibility there will be Extrication needed on the scene. Rescue trucks are equipped with the Jaws of Life and other extrication equipment and rescue personnel are all trained in the rapid extrication of individuals trapped in the vehicle. They also carry and are trained in Rope Rescue and Confined Space Rescue (as in an industrial plant accident).

Rescue personnel are also trained to respond as back-up in the event of a Hazardous Materials incident.
