More info on Councilman
David Boneno
Councilman David Boneno is now in his second term as a member of the Metropolitan Council. A Baton Rouge native, David
graduated from Catholic High School. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and went on to graduate from Tulane Law School. He is currently employed as general counsel at Louisiana Bankers Association
and is President and CEO of Compass Title Company. Councilman Boneno is also very active in the community, serving as a board member for Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful and Baton Rouge Green. He is also a member of the Coastal
Conservation Association, Capital Region Planning Commission, Forum 35, the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge and Knights of Columbus Council #4030. He is also a board member of the Jefferson Highlands Homeowners Association.
Councilman Boneno was also elected to the East Baton Rouge Republican Parish Executive Committee.
During his first term, Councilman Boneno secured improvements to major streets, including the addition of new turn lanes to Drusilla Lane at Jefferson Highway, the addition of a third land and new I-12 east entrance ramp on
Essen Lane and the widening of Lobdell Avenue between Jefferson Highway and Goodwood Boulevard. He also led the Bluebonnet Boulevard expansion and created Baton Rouge’s first Urban Design District—a project designed to enhance
aesthetic appeal and protect property values along the corridor.
Councilman Boneno will continue to protect and improve quality of life for residents throughout the district and parish. To date, he has helped to reduce speeding in district neighborhoods through the use of radar and increased
police patrol; fought crime by assisting residents in forming neighborhood watch programs; and worked to provide pedestrian and bicycle amenities on our roads.
The Councilman has also worked towards a more efficient City-Parish government by implementing greater oversight of the budget, targeting wasteful budget items, and fighting for term limits on local boards and commissions.
A Message from Councilman David Boneno
It is an honor to serve as a member of the East Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council, representing the citizens of District 11. The district is made up of many strong neighborhoods and thriving businesses.
In my second term, I will continue to work tirelessly to improve our traffic and roads; promote sound planning that will serve our community with development and construction that is well thought-out and consistent; seek
economic development to enable existing businesses to thrive and to attract new businesses and new jobs to our region. We need to create job opportunities for our young people who want to remain in our community, or who want to
return home. We need to support law enforcement and provide them with sufficient resources so they can perform their jobs successfully. I will continue my efforts of making government more accessible and responsive to residents.
Baton Rouge is my home, where my wife, Kim and I, are raising our family. I will work hard to represent the constituency of District 11 to the best of my ability.
