Erika L. Green is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a product of the East Baton Rouge Public School System. After graduating from Belaire High School, she received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Juvenile Justice from Prairie View A & M University in Texas. At graduation, Erika received the highest student honor, Student Humanitarian. She returned to her hometown to attend Southern University Law Center where she received her Juris Doctorate.
Erika practices law at her Baton Rouge firm, The Law Office of Erika Green,
LLC., but partnered with Cavalier and Green, LLC. for civil matters. Her
community impact extends to board membership of the Gloryland Educational
Resource Center, Inc., YWCA, JK Haynes Charter School, and The Capital Area
Transit System. She is also an active member of the Baton Rouge Branch of
the NAACP, Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc., Junior League of Baton Rouge, Forum 35, NOBLE, and Louis A. Martinet
Society. Erika is a devoted member of Gloryland Baptist Church.
In January 2015, she was appointed to the East Baton Rouge Metro Council as District 5 Councilwoman. In December 2016, she was elected to the position. During her council tenure, she has served on the Mayor’s Millenial Agenda Transition Team and founded Camp Expose for middle school students and IWE Festival, an urban culture and literary festival in North Baton Rouge. She desires citizen involvement and has established three District 5 Advisory Committees.
