The mayor pro tem is charged with chairing council meetings, and with filling in for the East Baton Rouge Parish mayor-president while that person is outside the parish. He is married to Joan Reaves Greco and they have four sons-Perry, Kelly, Andy and Brian. Mr. Greco received his education at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy where he served as class president. Mr. Greco is very active in the education community through organizations such as the Central Lions Club, Central Wildcat Backers, St. Alphonsus Home & School Organization, Redemptorist Home & School Organization, Redemptorist High School Advisory Board and served as president of Villa del Rey PTO Organization. He has "adopted" many schools in the parish to help with funding for new equipment and programs in efforts to promote enthusiasm for learning and reward for hard work by the children of East Baton Rouge Parish. He also serves as member at large Boy Scouts of America, Tunica District and is the Past Chairman of Tunica nominating committee. Mr. Greco also plays a very active role in the business community through his memberships in the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, Baton Rouge Credit Bureau, Baker Chamber of Commerce, Zachary Chamber of Commerce, Central Area Business Association, United Commercial Travelers, Baton Rouge Society of Pharmacists, Louisiana Pharmacist Association, Louisiana Board of Pharmacy and Ochsner’s Foundation Society. He also serves as Airport Commissioner on the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

Councilman Greco's Legislative Assistant Kathy Kelly can be found Downtown at the Council Office located in the Governmental Building at 222 St. Louis St., Ste. 344, on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

One of the community services provided by his office is a Commodity Distribution Center which distributes food once a month to the elderly and income deprived citizens of District 4. The Distribution Center is located in the Central Volunteer Fire Department Fire Station located at 11626 Sullivan Road. The contact person for more information on this program is Pete Grissom who can be reached at 261-3606. This project has enjoyed tremendous success and has played a significant role in meeting some of the needs of the community.

A Message from Councilman Greco....

How exciting to serve on the Metro-Council in such a vibrant growing community such as Baton Rouge and be an integral part of the changes set forth by our mayor, city planners, Metro-Council, and experience improvements that will boldly thrust us into the 21st century! At last our infrastructure is being addressed; our schools and teachers are at the forefront for our consideration and we continue to experience tremendous growth in commercial and residential construction. Our police department rates in the top ten percent in the nation and continues to improve. Baton Rouge boasts the number one Fire Department and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) rating in the United States.

Prospects downtown are brighter than ever before with our state government committing to build new office buildings in the downtown area, growth of the Centroplex, expansion and use of the Riverwalk.

The citizens of Baton Rouge are the greatest people on earth and deserve the very best services that government is able to deliver. No governing body is perfect and participation from our citizens is encouraged.

We must communicate with one another, work in harmony and continue to create a city in which we proudly work, raise our families, work in a peaceful coexistence and proudly call Baton Rouge our home.
