Operation Eiger
Out-Patient Substance Abuse Treatment Program
Sexual Offender's Treatment Program
Special Programs
Overview
The Intensive Supervision Program
Section (ISP) is the offender’s last chance at probation while still
providing protection for the public. The primary function of the ISP
is to provide intense supervision of offenders under conditions
established by the Juvenile Court. The ISP probation officers
supervise a specialized caseload and work with the most serious
violent offenders and chronic non-violent offenders.
Operation
Eiger
Operation Eiger is
an intensive supervision strategy developed to target high-risk youths
that have violent offenses, weapons offenses, drug offenses, and sex
offenses. Operation Eiger is staffed on a daily and nightly basis.
The daily staffing is assigned to probation officers who
specialize in the cases that have the most serious violent, chronic
offenders under the jurisdiction of the Court. The nightly staffing
is comprised of a three-person team made up of officers from the
police department, adult probation and parole, and juvenile
probation. Operation Eiger is supervised
by a Senior Probation Officer. The mission of the Operation Eiger
program compliments the various programs within the Department of
Juvenile Services to
identify, deter, and respond to criminal behavior.
Out-Patient Substance Abuse Treatment Program
The substance abuse program is an intensive out-patient program
developed by the Department of Juvenile Services. This is an on-site
program that evaluates the needs of the probationer and recommends
appropriate treatment. In-patient substance abuse treatment
recommendations are referred to the appropriate agencies and
out-patient substance abuse treatment recommendations are treated
through this out-patient program. The out-patient program identifies
substance abusers, treats the substance abuse issue, and follows up
with the probationer to assist them in meeting program goals and
changing their lifestyle
Sexual Offender’s Treatment
Program
The Sexual
Offender’s Treatment Program is an on-site intensive program that
provides community based sex offender counseling services as an
alternative to committing the offender to secure custody. The
intensive sexual offender treatment program offers positive
opportunities and educational strategies for the probationer that will
compliment the other services offered by the ISP Section to reduce
recidivism. The probationer will continue to receive the intervention
and enforcement aspects of Operation Eiger, Specialized Supervision
Unit, and the
other programs offered through the Department.
