Maison des Ami of Louisiana, Inc.

Maison des Ami (Maison) is a licensed board and care facility which served its’ first resident on Thanksgiving Day in 1986; and which was incorporated in October of 1990. Maison provides housing to homeless men and women who have chronic mental illnesses. Maison has a homelike atmosphere with 24 hours a day/7 days week supervision. Maison’s services include monitoring of self medication, individualized plans of care (developed and monitored by a mental health professional), psycho-social skills training, individual and group counseling, life skills training, educational, recreational, and social programs, assistance with applying for disability income, scheduling appointments and transportation for appointments, religious services, meetings and the like. All residents are encouraged to participate in self-help recovery and day programs. The facility includes common areas for recreation and dining. Three meals and two snacks are served daily. Maison has been awarded the Standards for Excellence Certification by the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO).
